Builders FirstSource customers and team members celebrated with professional anglers from Major League Fishing as they took home trophies from the 2023 MLF Pro-Am.

This year’s event was held at Guntersville Lake in Alabama, and once again featured several of the top MLF performers teaming up for the group competition with BFS representatives, customers, and The Build Show’s Matt Risinger.

For this tournament, each of the 11 BFS groups counted the five biggest fish they caught toward the team totals. The top group on Day 1 was led by MLF pro Luke Clausen, customer Phil Lewin and BFS’s Jeremy Von Glahn. Their top fish weighed in at 23 pounds, 3 ounces. That narrowly edged out the second place team, which featured MLF pro Tommy Biffle and BFS’s sweepstakes winners Cory Anderson and winner Mike Beechler, who came in with a total of 22 pounds, 14 ounces.

The competition was also tight on Day 2. The winning group was led by MLF pro Timmy Horton, who teamed with BFS’s Chris Cook and Benny Marshall to reel in fish weighing 21 pounds, 8 ounces. The next highest total came from MLF pro Matt Becker, BFS’s Al Baca and Alex Grannan, who totaled 20 pounds, 10 ounces.

After their days on the lake, all the participants were able to enjoy meals and receptions at the hotel, and celebrated the event at the trophy presentation ceremony to cap the event.

Beechler and Anderson were this year’s lucky sweepstakes winners, and they traveled in from Michigan and Texas, respectively. They were both randomly chosen from a pool of hundreds of entries, and both were treated to the all-expenses paid trip to Alabama for the event.
